August bullet journal setup & plan with me video made on time.
Wait, what? All jokes aside, I’m testing out new content management plan and so far it works good. Hopefully I’ll share that process with you soon and I’ll replace my old content planning video.
This time, I made some super simple layouts and a cover page that exists for lettering practice (that’s my first love after all) and here’s the whole process video if you’re looking for some minimal bujo inspiration.
Watch My August 2019 Bullet Journal Setup
I made a rough outline to see which pages I’m incorporating into this month’s setup and then I started making them with my go-to pens (one thin fineliner, a brush pen and a yellow marker.)
What’s Included Into This Setup?
Cover Page for Lettering Practice
First, there’s a cover page made only for some hand lettering practice. If you don’t want it you can skip it totally and move onto the monthly log. Here I made a giant A letter and a nicely looking lowercase title for August.
Monthly Log

Monthly calendar grid is my favorite way to plan any events that I might have and for this month I used open grid layout with rows that are clearly defined and that’s it. No vertical lines. The only thing that’s standing out a bit is the top of that grid which is highlighted with a yellow marker.
At the bottom right corner I had some space left which I filled in with No.1 highlight section, which is a place to log the best thing that happened in that month. I love browsing through my old notebooks sometimes to see what happened in the past, to notice how I felt during that time, and this part will be there to help me see at least one good thing that made me happy. We all need to remember the good things in life.
Habit Check & Brain Dump

Next two pages are my favorite and I can’t imagine my bullet journal without them. A habit check is a place to track my habits and write about them in a few short sentences and brain dump is a place to log my random ideas and notes and anything else that I might want to remember.
I used a simple layout with highlighted titles and the rest of this space will be filled over time with some random bullet points.
Workout Log
This page has the same layout as my previous two pages and it’ll help me stay on track with my workouts. I like to write a few notes after a finished workout session to see my progress. If you plan to start working out this can be a good motivator, because after a few weeks you’ll have a documented progress on paper and it feels good to see that.
Weekly Spread (or Half-Weekly)

Lastly, weekly layout made with yellow numbers and overlapping text so I can see what day of the week that is. If you don’t like to split your weekly like this, you can incorporate previous days of July and make this layout.
And this is it! We’re ready for August and new adventures. I hope this plan with me was helpful for you. Let me know what do you think about this one and what do you want to see next!
x, Saskolinas
