My April 2019 Bullet Journal Setup & Plan With Me

april bullet journal 2019

April is almost here and this time my full bullet journal setup is made in the very last minute. It’s still minimal and functional, with some pieces of gift wrapping paper that I always wanted to use, and I ended up adding it in some places.

Monthly Log

This month the main focus was to add more space for some things that can make my life easier, and after the cover page (which is still a totally optional thing to make, I just prefer to have it because I don’t use numbering to navigate) I included my usual calendar monthly log that never failed me, and I added some pieces of that vintage-printed gift wrapping paper on the edges.

One bigger piece has something written on it. “You have to do things your own way darling” are the words that I wrote because I want to discover my true voice, my own path in this life. We all tend to be influenced by someone. I certainly am, but I have that crazy and strong desire to change that.

“Trackers” That I always Have and Use

Next, I’m dedicating one page for my brain dump where I can scribble down some ideas and add random things. Other page is dedicated for my Habit Check which is a perfect “tracker” for me (you can see that page in the video at 1:40).

I can’t use standard grid trackers that other people in the bullet journal community use. I don’t like the idea of ticking checkboxes or anything similar every single day and I’m forgetful. I tried at the very beginning of my bujo journey to use that tracker layout and it just stayed empty.

Here, I have one page to write down every habit that I want to improve in some way, and through the month, I’ll be more mindful of that habit. If I’m determined to change something, I’ll definitely be aware of the things that I do every day (caffeine addiction? what?).

For example: I want to learn more. I’ll add a bullet point for learning in that Habit Check page and after the first half of the month I’ll write down a sentence or two regarding that habit: Did I made the time to learn something? Have I even started?

When the month ends, I’ll go back and write down how it went. Was it good? Did I improve that habit in any way or not? If not – what was the problem?

content plan spread

Content Plan is my next tracker, where I write down ideas, plan the content for that month, add some things that I want to finish and improve for that month and track the overall progress.

The layout here is brand new, so I still need to find out if it works. It has a lot of space for writing, that’s a good sign.

Note: If you have something that you need to plan out, it’s super useful to add some planner-like collection that fits your lifestyle where you can map out everything that you need. It doesn’t have to be like this, but idea is there.

After my Content Plan, I added a Workout Log which acts as an expansion of my Habit Check page. There, I’ll write down some things that I want to remember after every workout session.

It’s fun to see the first workout log, even though I use it for 3 months now. And it’s nice to see the improvement.

Weekly Spread

Finally, the first week of April will be documented here. Days of the week are there, ready for me to add bullets and notes of the things that happened that day. I used my favorite layout that’s super simple and now this bullet journal is ready for the next chapter.

Supplies Used for This Setup:

  • Tombow Fudenosuke Soft Brush Pen
  • Unipin Fineliner 0.2
  • Brown Marker
  • Gift wrapping paper/ Kraf tpaper (vintage/stamp/retro print) – you can use anything similar
  • Pen & Eraser – to sketch our everything (I’ll mess it up if I don’t)
  • Glue stick
  • Ruler, because I can’t draw a straight line
  • Hardcover A5 notebook

And that’s it for this setup. I still want to keep it simple and basic, because that’s all that I need. What are your thoughts about this?

Love, Saskolinas
